Here are some quick tips to start your day smoothly.
· Drink a couple of cups of warm water with some lime juice (half a lime is enough), and walk around for a while. Depending on individual, you may need to drink more or less - although, from personal experience, it works best when you drink enough warm water to make you feel “full”. It will take you a few days to figure out exactly how much water (and how warm) it takes to make it work. Do this as soon as you wake up, so that you give it enough time to work on your bowel.
· Some people suggest adding a teaspoon of honey to the mixture of warm water and lime juice. I have never tried it myself, but, if you have some honey easily available, go ahead and use it. You could also use a teaspoon of sugar instead.
· By the way, try drinking just warm water (without the lime or the honey or the sugar), and even that works.
· Over the years, we have heard about different things that work for different people in this matter. Here is a quick list of those things: tea, coffee, cold water, warm milk, breakfast….and reading a newspaper (honestly, I know some people who claim that they can’t do their business without their daily reading dose)!
More than the warm water and the lime juice, I think regular bowel movements are influenced by “regularity” - if instead of warm water, coffee works for you, then fine - drink coffee, but be regular in doing that, and your bowel will work it out.
